What Is Apprenticeship

Apprenticeship is a time tested method of training tomorrow's skilled craftsman in a trade. It combines both classroom formal instruction and on-the-job training with a master craftsman. Apprentices typically work full-time on a construction site under the tutelage of a journeyman, while earning good wages and benefits. Classroom instruction usually takes place one night a week at the union training facility and is FREE. The union apprenticeship programs have been using this method for over a century to train apprentices to become tomorrow's journeyman.
